Tbird now jumps to the end of the end of the message in the message pane

Just since the latest Tburd update: When I select a message to view, Tbird jumps to the bottom of the message in the message pane, instead of staying at the top. I could not find an option to control this behavior. How can I get Tbird to display the message from the beginning instead of automatically jumping to the end?

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.

Tbird seems to have fixed itself. I didn't make any changes, and did not restart, but now it is behaving normally. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try it if the problem recurs.
