I want to uninstall/reinstall. The icon will not stay in trash. Msg says Firefox CANNOT BE UNINSTALLED.
I read and followed all of the instructions. The first one said that I cannot eject Firefox, because Firefox is in use, even when there is no trace of it being used. when I tried to drag the installer to the trash, the message said that Firefox cannot be uninstalled. I am having glitches and I need to be able to uninstall it then reinstall it.
Help! (Thanks.)

What kind of problems? Many are caused by settings and add-ons, which are all preserved during a normal uninstall/reinstall. Hopefully we can help with the specific issue.
But to address the problem you're having with not being able to trash the file: I suggest shutting down your Mac and starting it up again. Just after startup, before starting Firefox, the file should not be locked and you should be able to trash it.

So, I made every attempt to uninstall. Finally, after putting individual components into the trash from the folder, I got error messages every time I tried to empty the trash, until I went to shut it down. Suddenly, the orange installer icon disappeared, and when I rebooted, voila! Weirdest thing ever. Now I will attempt to download again! Thanks for your all's help!
