Firefox has saved logins and passwords, but autofill does not work and cannot check 'Remember logins for sites'

In my Firefox settings several usernames and passwords are saved. However, the "Remember logins for sites" is not checked, but I cannot check it, as it's light grey. In about:config, the autoFill value is 'true'.

When I open a website, like Hotmail, LinkedIn, or other webpage with login, it does not give the username, nor password (even though they are saved).

I cleared the login and password for Hotmail in settings, and opened Hotmail again refilled in my login and password. Now it does not reappear in the settings with saved usernames and passwords. Which makes sense, as 'remember logins for sites' is not checked.

In my settings 'Always use private browsing mode' is off.

Please, do you know why I cannot check 'Remember logins for sites' and how to solve this?
