OS X 10.5.8 hasn't been supported by Mozilla for a good number of years now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Leopard - looks you may have one of the last PowerPC devices from Apple. Firefox 16.0.2 was the last version compatible with Mac OS X Leopard, and was released on October 26, 2012.

I tried checking Facebook support for an answer, but all I found was - Video calling works with:" Firefox with a hyperlink that leads to the download page for newest version of Firefox. And I was unable to find an "minimum requirements for the operating system; which is typical for services like that, IMO.

I suspect that Facebook video calling uses WebRTC which became available in the Firefox 34.0 version, iirc. Or maybe Firefox 38.0.

You might want to wait for an answer from another contributor who is more well-versed with Mac OSX, but chances are the answer would be that you need a much newer computer and a much newer bersion of Firefox to use that feature.
