I had a hard drive crash. I have all of my files backed up. I'm have Windows 7 64bit. Apparently FF wasn't backing up my bookmarks because the 3 backup files that are there are 3 years old. I first tried replacing the places.sqlite file in the new ff profile with my old file. When I start up ff again there is no bookmarks toolbar and when I open "show all bookmarks" there is absolutely nothing there except the menu at the top. Then I tried creating a new profile and copying my places.sqlite file in there. Same result when I do show bookmarks. Then I tried deleting all of the files in the new profile and copying my old profile files in there. This time when I started ff it was at the "this is embarrassing" screen but all of my old windows and tab were there. I unchecked a few and started ff. It looked like there was a space for the bookmarks toolbar because when I right-clicked and unchecked the bookmarks toolbar, the space disappeared but there were no bookmarks. When I did show bookmarks again there was nothing in the window except the menu. The only thing I want out of this is my old bookmarks back. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
