How can I get drag & drop to work again in composition mode?
This started a few months ago. When composing a message, I can no longer drag & drop text. I can cut & paste, but not D&D. I recently installed Version 45 thinking it would take care of the problem, but it didn't. Thoughts?

Do you still have this problem if you restart Thunderbird in safe mode?
No. D & D seems to work OK in Safe Mode.
It seems the problem only exists when "Insert Link From Local File 1.1" Add-on is enabled, so I removed it.

Still testing, but will mark as sorted for now. "Insert Link From Local File 1.1" seems to be the culprit. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
