Can Firefox OS be considered a derived distribution of Android?

Hi, I wonder to know if Firefox OS can be considered a derived distribution of Android. In particular, I read here https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Platform/Gonk that Firefox OS uses a Linux kernel based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and userspace hardware abstraction layer (HAL). I do not think the Firefox OS is a derived distribution of Android, but I would like to have a clarification of this point. Furthermore, the main Android license are GPL 2.0 for Linux kernel and HAL and Apache 2.0 for the others components while Firefox OS uses GPL 2.0 for Linux kernel and HAL and Mozilla 2.0 for the others components. FxOS uses the andoid kernel ( https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Platform/Gonk ) and some android debugging tools like adb. So it depends on your definition of distribution. For example, linux distros all have the linux kernel in common, because linux is just the kernel. Android however comes with UI and the Dalvik runtime (etc.) - FxOS is not using those Parts. So in the broadest sense, you could call it an android distribution, but I would not.
