Why are my Thunderbird emails "dissolving" as I'm reading them?
I just opened Thunderbird email this morning, and got a second screen telling me about all the spiffy new things I got with the new Thunderbird.
And now, every Thunderbird screen view (emails, inbox, troubleshooting, etc.) is "fading" as soon as I open them. They become quite illegible!
HELP!

Hmm, I am guessing. But try disabling hardware acceleration in Tools menu (alt+T) > options > advanced > general

Never mind! Disabling add-ons seems to have solved the problem.
what add-on specifically was the issue?
I have no idea: I just disabled all of 'em!
However, Matt, as of your email, the problem has returned!
I stand corrected: whether disabling add-ons helped or not, I actually don't know. It turns out that I was using Thunderbird in safe-mode, which does prevent the problem from happening.
It would be nice, though, if I didn't have to go into safe-mode every time I open Thunderbird!

Sorry to reply so late, Matt, but I've been in communicado for the past dozen days.
Disabling hardware acceleration seems to have done the trick.
Thank you, good sir!
