can't setup an email account
I'm using Thunderbird 31.7.0 in a Fedora 20 distribution. I have installed Thunderbird using the provided yum distribution.
Then I tried to setup my existing accounts jean.nouzeilles@mail.ru and my pepito.putamadre@gmail.com using IMAP and POP settings. Thunderbird was not able to download messages from any of the accounts.
I had to delete multiple times the folder ~/.thunderbird to re-create the account but still stuck in the process.
It seems Thunderbird is not able to communicate with the servers, it says Unread: 0 Total: 0 in the lower right corner.
How can I get Thunderbird to work?
Thank you very much,
JN

Ok, I just figured it out....
...I had enabled the proxy form my network and it seems Thunderbird did not work well with my proxy (Squid).
When removing the proxy settings from the proxy configuration, the email accounts creation started behaving normally and very fast.
I answered myself.
Thank you,
