How can I get rid of tabs and have them instead the way they used to be?

Up until today I had to tap a little "tabs" icon on the top left of my screen. Now I have these annoying tabs taking up twice the screen real estate that they used to. How can I get it back the way it was before?

Hi,

This is a new design for Firefox 36. It should make it easier to see what tabs you have open and switch between them (getting to another tab takes only takes one tap, instead of two!).

It shouldn't take up any more screen space when you're reading, as the tab bar will automatically hide when you scroll down.

Sorry it's a bit of a surprise, but keep trying it out. Hopefully it'll grow on you :)

Is there any way I can switch back to FF 35?

I'm really confused. are you talking about firefox for android? the tabs icon is in the top right and the tabs don't show up unless you tap it. once you tap it, the tab interface opens up taking up the whole screen listing all the tabs, but the tab listing isn't there unless you tap it - that didn't change in Firefox 36 for android. please clarify what you mean

yes, just download the apk for firefox 35, uninstall firefox, and then reinstall it from the firefox 35 apk

See the included screenshot. The problem I have is with the tabs at the top of my screen.

Firefox 36 includes a new design for Android tablets (the look and feel of Firefox on Android phones isn't changed). Here's a blog post from the designer with more info: http://lucasr.org/2014/12/03/new-tablet-ui-for-firefox-on-android/
