As above. I tried to open an on line bank account, did all the forms on line, but when it came to making the deposit I got a message saying my browser wouldn't allow this (I think it was error message 93). The bank, comcast and norton all checked and said it wasn't their problem, and Firefox is a browser. I have opened other accounts on line with this browser. So what gives.

Sorry - in order to post the screenshot I will have to provide the bank's deposit form, which has a lot of information I don't want to share with a list. So thanks for trying, but I can't use this solution. And I was actually able to find a brick and mortar bank where I could open an account the old fashioned way.

I don't know whether you use any privacy add-ons, or ad blocking, script blocking, Flash blocking, etc. type add-ons, or if you block "third party" cookies. These kinds of options can sometimes created unexpected results, but of course it is difficult to know exactly what isn't working right if it's your first visit to the site.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
