Hi!

I want to add a calendar via CalDav (I'm using Baikal on my raspberry). URL, username and password is fine, but I always get the message "Username or Password incorrect". I have an ZTE Open C with FFOS 1.3. Anyone else has the problem?

Hi gernot.rot, I am running a Baikal server on the web (shared hosting!) and am able to connect my Firefox OS device without any problems. Can you make sure in Baikal settings WebDAV authentication type is "basic"? With "digest" I ran into Errors sometimes. If you tell me how you did setup Baikal on your Pi, I could test this as well.

Unfortunately, this isn't available in 1.3.

Is it available in newer versions?

Hi gernot.rot,

Firefox OS actually does support CalDav.

The issue that Andrew linked to are for different cases. Specifically, CalDav with Self Signed security certificates, and the other is Offline Calendar.

Are you able to log in to your Baikal CalDav server on your Raspberry from other devices? Is it using Self Signed certificates for the SSL connections?

I've never tried connecting Firefox OS to a personal server, but we're looking forward to hear back from you so that we can investigate.

Thanks,

- Ralph

1. You are right, the links mentioned above are not suitable for my case. I connect over normal http, not https and I always get this "username and password incorrect" message, I checked the credentials a bunch of times, this cannot be the issue. 2. I think it's not an issue of the baikal server, I can connect easily with thunderbird lightning! Will be really nice, when someone tries this out on your own and share their experiences! Because "Native" CalDav support on Firefox OS is a super sweet feature (when it works....) ;)

hi p.j.fry! thanks for this hint, you are absolutely right, when I change the authentication type to "basic", it works!

maybe this would be fine, when "digest" also works, because it's safer...

Hi gernot.rot, that's awesome to hear that this solved your problem!

P.J.Fry, thanks for sharing this suggestion and contributing to the Support at Mozilla. If I may ask - how did you hear about this forums and how did you find this question?

Either way, thanks for your contribution, and welcome to the community! =)

Hello Ralph,

I found this forums when I got my Open C and wondered about some functionalities. The forum helped me finding many answers just by reading trough. Suddenly I felt giving something back would just be the right thing to do. Since then I am monitoring the Firefox OS section of sumo (and other forums), waiting for a question to which I could contribute with my personal experience. I got very little sparetime, so there is not much I can do. All the more beeing glad I could help this time.
