Already invested time creating some html code for email signature on thunderbird. Wanted to create something prepared for dark modes on IOS. Everything was fine until I detected on IOS (dark mode)some white rectangles outside my email signature code. It´s a problem that I cannot solve because it´s outside my code, and I´m wondering if you are already aware of this issue.

Thunderbird runs slow...ie when I type an email I can easily type faster than thunderbird will accept characters....(this does not happen in other applications)...this happened about a month ago, and then stopped ( I have no idea why)...but the problem is back. I am running Ver 115.10.0 build 2024012173147. Rebooting windows 11 makes no difference.... I just tried to enter Troubleshoot mode and thunderbird stopped responding....Top line says Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding). Thunderbird is connected to my gmail account. ...and I run IMAP....with 'store all messages on the computer', but thunderbird wants to load every email from the server'

I have had a few emails that did not show up in the inbox listing, so the message count at the top indicated more messages than were listed. Doing a search showed them, and by moving them from the search results to another folder, and then re-searching and moving them back, caused most of them to appear. But not all - I still have a message count of 20, but only 19 listed, see photo 1. Photo 2 shows the hidden email (from Barry Chandler). So the email is there, it's just not visible!

Hi folks, I am wondering if there is a way to change the behavior of the pop-up reminder window in Calendar. When I have missed reminders (e.g. a task set for today at 8am and it is now 9am), the task is visible in the reminder window that pops up every time a reminder is active. This is fine. But if there is a past reminder (not resolved), every time I add a new task (or edit a past task) to the calendar, the pop-up reminder window opens and comes to the front. Let me describe the example: I missed (knowingly) a reminder at 8AM. Now, at 9 AM I need to add 3 new tasks to the Calendar. After setting (or copying, editing) each new task, the pop-up reminder window is focused on the front. Can I change this behavior so that the reminder window only pop up when the reminder is due and not in the case a new task is set up or old one edited?

I have latest Thunderbird version (115.9.0 64bit) on fully patched Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS.

I'm trying to get it to display Day-of-Week for old messages - is this possible? I have tried all sorts of combination as detailed HERE to no avail.

I'd like concise instructions on how to do this (if it can be done). I do not believe trying a new profile will work as I need to test this for old messages - at least for messages older than a week.

From the link above, I can the Day-of-Week to work for the current week - but that only displays the day and time. What I'm after is as shown in the attached Outlook screenshot. Also see the closest I can get that to match in the Thunderbird screenshot.

I'm about the 100th person to have this problem, so I have spent the better part of two days looking at all the threads and possible fixes. Like all the others, with no warning, my TBird stopped being able to send messages through Spectrum. It did NOT start immediately after I updated TBird to 115.9.0 (in March) but just three days ago. I have three roadrunner addresses in TBird, and one other one associated with a website I have. All have the same problem. My phone and my iPad send messages just fine.

I tried all the fixes that worked for some. They didn't work for me; I continued to get various, inconsistent Send Message Errors. I have come back to the recommended Spectrum setup for the outgoing SMTP server: mail.twc.com, Security is STARTTLS, Port 587, Authentication is Normal Password, my username is my email address. Of course the problem is not fixed.

What DID work was putting TBird in Troubleshooting mode, using the Spectrum setup above. While that is adequate, I would much rather find out what is wrong. I have Matt's 10/7/23 11:56 AM answer to someone, asking for the Troubleshooting Information. I will be glad to supply that but I need an answer to this message in order to do that. Thanks! Demaris

Thunderbird auto updated to 115.10.1 and now it is behaving strangely.

1. The Message Filter has "Junk" at the bottom of the list of filters and anything that is not sent to a folder gets sent to the Junk folder. Instead all the junk is going to the Inbox.

2. Folders that have new email show up in blue highlighted folder as they should. But if I select those emails and read them, they remain highlighted but without the blue color.

3. Sometimes when I delete an email after reading, it deletes for a moment and then returns to the folder as unread. Multiple attempts to delete fail.

Last week, sometime, I received ALL the emails, that have come into my "mailbox", from about the time I purchased my latest computer, several years ago. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of the little critters. All arranged alphabetically, starting with the letter "a". So far, the ONLY solution I've found from "Thunderbird Help", is to 1. Open inbox 2. Select [left click] one of the repeated emails. 3. This high lights the email in BLUE. 4. Select BOTH "CONTROL & A" KEYS at the same time. 5. This highlights the WHOLE PRESENT page of emails in BLUE. 6. The instructions then say to press the "DELETE" key. 7. Question is- IF I PRESS THE "DELETE" key, will that just delete the emails on this page, OR delete EVERY email in my entire "inbox"? The only OTHER remedy I've tried, is to send the unwanted emails, ONE at a time, to the "TRASH" folder, then empty the "TRASH" folder, when I get 10-15 emails in it. That could take a VERY long time. I am an e-mail packrat.... I have a pop e-mail but keep years and years worth of old e-mails (inbound and outbound) some with big attachments. My backup for the few e-mail accounts I have within my profile is approx 13 gigs. I've moved machines... and currently running Ventura on my imac.

I have to force-quit all the time to get my e-mail working again. It hangs-up.... sometimes will recover... but then... I type a few words or maybe sentences... and back to HANGING-UP again. Sometimes after a Force-Quit... it will behave for awhile. Other times... it takes 4-5-6 force quits in a row to get the program working again. Been having these issues for months... and have taken out all the add-ons etc.... HELP... pulling my hair out! Thanks

When I answer an email TB adds Re: (or Fwd: ) in the subject line which I have laways found annoying. My previous email client allwed me not to have this happen. Is it possible to stop this?

It is possible I have asked this previously, but if so, I cannot find this and have received no replies. My apologies if I have!

Hello! I am facing the issue with time zone translations. Here is what I do. First, I create event on web-interface of the google calendar. That account is linked to TB's calendar. This calendar has settings for my timezone as in the first screenshot, that is GMT+3 for Kyiv, Ukraine. It is actually GMT+2 + daylight saving hour in effect. Country is also set to Ukraine. Next, my Windows 11 system is set to set time and timezone automatically, region - Ukraine. It displays UTC+2 Helsinki, Kyiv,... I guess it's Windows settings display quirk, because time is correct and WSL console shows

My TB's calendar is set to have system's timezone as in 3rd screenshot.

Now if I see my event in TB calendar, it is placed one hour later, say 9 am event starts at 10. So reminders also come hour later. Also strange thing is that event properties in TB show correct time like 9:00 till 10:40, but for some strange timezone Europe/Zaporozhye, as in 4th picture.

However, if I set TB's calendar manually to Europe/Kiev (which should be Kyiv, but that's another story), then events are shifted hour up to their right place, 9 am. So this is my issue: when I set calendar forcibly to Kyiv timezone, it does translate it right. When I ask calendar to rely on system's timezone, which indeed is also Kyiv, then I get one hour behind.

I've got a Fastmail account, and have set up CardDav according to Fastmail's guide to get set up with Thunderbird.

Once my contacts synced, I was unable to see my contact lists in the Thunderbird contacts sidebar, nor can I add a list (the button is greyed out). Is this a known issue? Is it Fastmail specific, or a CardDav thing?

Hello, For some reason, over the past couple of months I have been searching for varied emails and they are missing! At one point, I found that some had been put in an archive folder (that I did NOT set up) and they were recent emails. I removed them from the folder, placed them back in the regular inbox and deleted that folder. When I could not find another very important series of emails today, after searching numerous ways, I looked in the server and missing emails are there. I did look at a number of email threads where other people reported similar problems... but couldn't figure out what applied to my situation and how to fix this. To show a specific example, I attached two images ... the first is my Thunderbird email account that shows one Email only on Feb 18, 2024. The Juno server image shows 7 emails on that same date, four which were important contracts that were sent to me. Can you please help me locate and retrieve these and other missing emails? Yesterday I downloaded Thunderbird to Windows 10 (64-bit), added my Office 365 (for work or school) account, rocketmail account and iCloud account. I created unified folders for the three accounts. I have downloaded the TBSync add-on with the required CavDev (?) one to connect my iCloud calendar.

After successful use the first few times, now Thunderbird becomes unresponsive within 5 seconds of opening, every time, rendering the program unusable.

Troubleshooting mode does not fix the problem, so I assume it's not the add-ons, nor does starting my PC in Safe Mode (F4 at startup ie no networking), so I assume it's not antivirus.

I uninstalled Thunderbird and re-installed from the website today. All my accounts were there (so I wonder if the uninstall didn't work properly, although I assume that it's just the files left on my computer that the new Thunderbird installation is accessing).

All these attempted fixes leave the problem unchanged: the window freezing within seconds of opening.

Because the program becomes listed as 'not responding' and greys out on further clicks, I have to hard-close the program using Windows, selecting 'Close the progam'. Clicking 'Wait for the program to respond' leaves the screen greyed out, and nothing changes for at least 20 minutes (the maximum I've tried waiting it out). This also means that it does not yield a formal crash report, because Thunderbird does not recognise it has crashed.

On one occasion it did create a crash report, which I submitted. I am not sure what behaviour allowed this to happen, and I have been unable to reproduce it. That particular crash ID was as follows:

Any help much appreciated! I'd love to stick with Thunderbird if possible.

I use Thunderbird as a central repository for 5 different email addresses. Recently 1 of them stopped getting Sent messages that were created on Webmail or my Phone. I used to work fine, now it doesn't. This account is the only one I have that is set to POP3; the others are IMAP.

I'd change the settings to be IMAP but don'e see how to do that. And, I don't want to lose any messages and would like to capture the ones that have not been captured.

Any thoughts?

So I flipped my table because of the new Outlook update and I'm beyond frustrated.

Not only it does not show the unread email count but also stopped working for my work email, making me miss a serious meeting!

This is ridiculous!

So now I'm transitioning to Thunderbird however, my Inbox is showing the total amount of emails. This is not what I need. What I need is the unread amount of emails.

On top of this, if I minimize the email, the Inbox amount count merges with the amount count of Sent Items. This is not what I need either... What I need is to solely have the amount of unread emails.

How can I achieve solely unread email count with Thunderbird?

Please keep me posted as I'm losing my last screw over setting up something as basic as this. -Val

I have two computers, one older with TB 115.9.0 32 bit, pop. The other has 115.9.0 64 bit, imap, same email address. I have tried to merge them, but when i do the Thunderbird Import folder has zero messages and no subfolders. I also tried changing the old TB to IMAP, didnt work: "configuration problem". Any help would be appreciated.
