How do I retrict seaches to UK
When I search on my laptop the majoity of results are UK based. However when I search on my phone & tab I get the majority of result from worldwide ( mainly USA & AUS) not UK

You might try installing a new search plugin. I'm not sure how to make it the default (my device is malfunctioning at the moment) but you can at least have it available to tap.
Open this page: http://mycroftproject.com/google-search-plugins.html
Then use menu > Find in Page to find the UK and try that one.
