I updated to version 26, and now the Juniper Network's VPN client will not load, or recognize the latest version. I also noticed that GoToMeeting web links will not auto start the session. I am having to open IE and manually paste that into the URL from there. I would revert to 25; but I do not see a link for that. How can I either revert, or fix the issues. Thanks

After Java update Java7u51, FireFox extension NoScript did not help to solve abowe problem anymore. The only solution I found was to add site name of Juniper VPN login portal to Java settings at ”Security=>Exeption Site list” (picture juniper_java751.jpg).

Java plugin in FireFox still needs setting "Always activate" (=no security questions from FireFox), so I quess also NoScipt extension should be installed as descibed abowe.

Thank you for contacting support. I am sorry to hear that the VPN is not working in Firefox version 26. In order to get a better understanding of the issue can you please provide the following troubleshooting information:

]

  • Does the VPN that you have set up on the network require a certificate, and is that certificate installed in the Firefox browser after the update? Has the certificate been updated since the version 26 update?
  • Has anything changed in the VPN's configurations since the browser updated and did it work before?

Looking forward to your reply.

Mozilla 26.0 and Juniper Network Connect 7.2.0:

I think this is partially caused by setting of Mozilla plugin "Java (TM) Platform...." which has setting "Ask to activate". This setting will cause extra security questions to be asked in browser session from user and they somehow prevent Juniper "Host Checker" to be run automatically.

Instead it goes into "Save file as..." mode. Saving the program locally and running it manually does not solve the case.

On the other hand when VPN login portal is trying to activate "Host Checker" program, this process has effect on security questions of Mozilla so that questions will disappear automatically from screen if user does not answer them fast enough (within 3...4 seconds).

This is possible work around:

  • change setting of Mozilla plugin "Java (TM) Platform...." from "Ask to activate" to "Always Activate"
  • install Mozilla extension NoScipt from "http://noscript.net", extension can be used to define trusted sites that require javascript
  • add your Juniper network login portal as one of trusted sites in "Whitelist" of NoScript

Only one extra security question will now be asked from user. I quess this comes from Java and it does not interfere with login process of VPN portal anymore. After these modications login to Juniper VPN portal (v7.2.0) works without problems using FireFox (v26.0).

Hi,

I've install juniper today after having the same issues:

  1. -start IE 32 bytes from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
  2. -install java on the IE from java.com
  3. -I've added the juniper site as an exception in java (see above)

and now is working.

Hope this help.

Does this still work for you in version 27?

more options

Yes, this works with FireFox v27.0 too:

-settings of java plugin and NoScript extension as described abowe

-add juniper login portal into exeptions list of java

I agree, after Java7u51, IE11 also requires exeption of juniper vpn login portal to be added in settings of java.
