excite video is a black screen w/ circled arrow and play beneath, when i click" play", circle and play goes away leaving black screen. do i need a patch, i just updated to most recent version of firefox to no avail

Excite uses the Flash player to play embedded YouTube videos. The latest versions of the Flash player use hardware acceleration, and for some this can cause problems with playing videos. Try disabling the hardware acceleration in Flash to see if it helps. To do that right-click on a Flash video and choose Settings. The first tab (display tab) should be displayed. On that tab uncheck “Enable hardware acceleration", then close the settings and see if you can play the videos.
