When I click on the shortcut this popup comes up. Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window. I close it and it does it again. 

You can send the the answer to  pedersonted@gmail.com This email doesn't work.

if you look in task manager is Thunderbird running before you click the link?
