I am unable to get Thunderbird to work with Protonmail - failure to sync, constant downloading (or apparent downloading) of All Mail, blue spinning wheel.
I have installed Thunderbird (TB) on a Surface Windows 10 for use with Gmail and Protonmail (via Protonmail's Bridge). TB works fine with Gmail. It doesn't work with Protonmail: folders do not sync, mail is not placed in the TB Inbox, and in general nothing happens because of the spinning blue wheel. When you click on Activity Manager, TB seems to be trying to download all messages in the All Mail folder. I say "seems" because nothing appears to be happening: the task bar visible in the Activity Manager window never moves. (I attach a screenshot of the task bar, which never gets filled in.) But something has gummed up TB because it then does nothing with regard to the Protonmail account: no syncing, no downloading. If I quit TB and then restart, it immediately snaps into shape and folders are synced and messages are downloaded into Inbox. But then quickly thereafter it ceases to work again. (All the while, TB works with Gmail and with Google calendar.) Any help? Thanks.
