I'm having an issue on Lowes.com website. While browsing through any product category, down the left side of the page is a column called "Refine Results". It has a bunch of different categories (price, style, brand, etc) to help you filter the product results. If you click on any of these categories they will expand or collapse. In Firefox if I click on one I'm just taken back to the top of the page and the category does not open or close. I've tried it with IE 11 and the latest Chrome and they both work as expected.

Are others seeing this issue or is it just me? FYI: I'm using Firefox 38.0.1 on Windows 7 x64 PC. I've tried turning off my Avast and Adblock plugins but that didn't help.

For what it's worth, the controls in that left column, such as stars and price, and the separators, do not work for me, either. I use NoScript, but I unblocked pretty much everything except Facebook and LivePerson.

The items in the sidebar work for for. I can collapse and expand sections and place and remove a tick in the check boxes.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Started it in safe mode and it worked fine. Enabled add-ons one by one and found that it was the Avast Online Security add-on. Even with all of the options unchecked it still caused the issue.

Thanks for helping me find it.
