FIREFOIX CHECKS EXTENSIONS EVERY TIME I START FIREFOX. HOW CAN I STOP THIS.
I DON'T WANT TO RESET FIREFOX. I DID THIS ONCE ALREADY AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET FIREFOX RUNNING AS IT WAS BEFORE I DID IT. IT NOW STARTS VERY SLOWLY AND CHECKS EXTENSIONS. CAN I REVERT TO VERSION 25. OPERATING SYSTEM WIN 7 HOME PREMIUM 64 BIT

Hello BILLYBOB13, also, in your system details it seems that you have in your profile folder a User.js file. The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file (some programs create and write in the file also).
thank you

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search Bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete the addons.json and addons.sqlite file.
You can check for problems with preferences and delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value.
this got rid of the constant checking of extensions but is still slow to load. will work on that next. thank you.
