Yesterday I did update to Firefox OS 1.1.0.0 rev. 01061. Then all my contacts were missing. So I tried to add contacts again but was impossible to use the contacts application because always that I pressed the done button, after filling contact information, nothing happened, the contacts list was still empty. I tried importing contacts from SIM card, the application show me a progress but finally the contact list was empty. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware?

Hi jsuarez_m,

I'm sorry you had this problem with the upgrade. Can you please tell me what model phone you have and what country you are in/or your carrier?

Hi,

Thank you for this information, it is not possible to downgrade the firmware, I apologize for this problem. If you have not tried to restart the device, please try restarting it to see if the contacts app will allow you to add new contacts or import them (in v1.1 you can import contacts from additional sources like outlook and gmail). Let me know if it works, meanwhile we will report this to Movistar as well as our QA team.

Best regards, Michelle Luna

I've restarted the phone several times and the contacts's app still has a malfunctioning behavior. I don't able to add new contacts after I pressed "done" button. In fact the contact list is empty. I'm able to do low level task if you give me the steps, I've got ubuntu 12.10

Hi,

Thanks for the additional information. If you can do the following to get a log, it would be great:

1. connect phone via USB 2. open terminal and type 'adb logcat > filename' 3. open Contacts app of the phone and wait a minute 4. type control+c in the terminal to stop the logcat

I will update this thread when I hear more from QA, we have a bug on file similar to this, so we are investigating, thanks for your help and patience!

-Michelle

Hi Michelle,

I am sending you the log. After set up the adb debug, I opened Contacts app and waited about 1 minute and then I tried to add a new contact.

The following link you can download the file with the debug traced: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share?s=vDerSEB7QTwv8BqhQJmPGQ

Hi jsuarez_m

Thanks very much for the log file you provided before this, I really appreciate it and I apologize for my late reply. I believe we have found this bug and provided a fix in a new build, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=938564, but I don't know when this will become available in an update to your device.

You can try to factory reset, in the meantime, but you will loose data and have to re-configure your apps even if the contacts app is not restored to normal.

I suggest that you return the device to the shop where you purchased it, to let them know that the official update caused the problem and request that they fix the device. I apologize for this inconvenience.

Best Regards, Michelle Luna
