I cannot load http://addons.mozilla.org/ neither install addons. On the same computer, Chrome is loading the same website without problem. I am behind a proxy, FF4b12 Linux 64

more options

Addons are not working. I tried either to load addons.mozilla.org both from site bar and from addons menu in Tools. I tried also to load an addon from a file without success. The browser keeps loading it indefinitely without error or success report. On the same computer (with the same proxy settings) Chrome is able to load addons.mozilla.org

Can you try with the following build:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or.../firefox-4.0b13pre.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 (Linux)

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or.../firefox-4.0b13pre.en-US.win32.installer.exe (Windows)

Install that somewhere (not in your current install directory), quit all open Firefox instances and try it. Let me know if it works.

We think we've fixed this but we'd like to confirm in some in-the-wild cases.

This is a Linux issue. Windows version is not affected (Win 7 Professional 64 bit)

I must be more precise: in the windows case no proxy is present (my home connection), so it is possible that the problem is present in Windows version also (I have seen simillar issues in the forum).

I am on Windows 7 64bit and I too cannot load the addons site. I also get the js error mentioned previously

I am behind a proxy.

I have the same problem, with Windows XP SP3 and behind a proxy, Firefox 4b12 (and b13 too) can't access (infinite wait on the requests, either directly and in addons tab) addons.mozilla.org site in https. It worked since one month ago, more or less. Firefox 3.6.15 beta works !!

I have downloaded and installed FF4b13pre. Now it is working ! ;)

I installed Ff4b13pre .zip version (not the exe installer) and the site addons.mozilla.org works! For me is enough!! The function "get addons" in addons tool seems th hang with a not responding script.

Giovalazz: That is strange, in my case "get addons" page is working also (with a bit of late, however).

more options

entering the function "get addons", after some wait, a message window asks me if I want to stop a non responding script: https://static.addons.mozilla.net/media/js/zamboni/discovery-min.js/.... but at this point firefox is already hung and I can't really choose to stop the script ... Only kill the process ...

But at least direct access to addons site works normally ...

Just wanted to confirm that the beta13 pre release build fixed this issue for me on Windows XP.

Thanks.

Just upgraded 3.6.x -> 4.0 final on OSX 10.6.6. My user account is admin and is not having this problem. Non-admin account with parental controls on same machine with same installation is having this problem, it says website down or busy, cannot browse addons from the website or in the addons window. Non-mozilla domains load fine.
