Couldn't open nor close a window from previous session
I tried disabling add-ons, and tried safe mode, but to no avail.

I am using version 81.0 on macOS Catalina 10.15.7.
Finally found a way to close the window: - Switched to the window — but not visible. - Did a "Close Window" — but nothing visible happened. - Opened Window menu where I found an item with "Close tabs" title - Switched to that invisible prompt, pressed enter, and that did the job.
That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this can help others with similar problems.

This only solves the problem of not being able to close the window, though. If it happens again, I wouldn't be able to restore the open tabs from that session.
Another way to fix this is to delete or rename sessionstore.jsonlz4 with Firefox closed.
When sessionstore.jsonlz4 is deleted you lose pinned-tabs and open tabs and you will have to recreate them, so if necessary make a note or bookmark them. sessionstore.jsonlz4 is only present in the Firefox profile folder when Firefox is closed.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
