Use a Master Password to protect stored logins and passwords {web link}
The password information is stored in two files in the profile folder. The files are encrypted. The Master Password adds another layer of security.
The password for the Firefox Account is only used for this account.
The MP is only used used to encrypt the usernames and passwords that you see in Lockwise. The MP is never passed to the Sync server even if you sync the Logins. All data including the logins is encrypted locally with a key derived from the password of the Sync account before it is uploaded to the Sync server.
