Why isn't the Firefox download on the Internet the latest version?
It took me several times to get the most current version of Firefox because the Internet only had version 54! Thankfully, after several download attempts and updating via Restart, I was FINALLY able to download Version 77!

Hi jkirton2, do you recall what site you were using to install Firefox? For your Mac, it is safest to come to the source at mozilla.org rather than going through a third party website that might pop up in search results alongside it.
https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/
If there is some site misleading users to believe they have the latest, authentic Firefox, you could "name names" and see whether some action needs to be taken about that.

I take it you are referring to desktop Firefox for Mac OSX and not mobile Firefox for iOS devices like iPad or iPhones. Moved thread from Firefox for iOS to Firefox section.
