Hello everyone!

So it looks as if the drop down arrow is gone again with the latest update. I tried the browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus preference to switch the value from true to false and it was still false from the last update. Please help!

Hi Mel, the button is gone but if you type a space in the URL bar you can still get the classic list.

If you strongly prefer a button, I have an add-on, but it has its own drop-down, there's no way to put the add-on list into the official URL bar drop-down. If you want to take a look:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-history-top-sites-button/

Let me know if there are things you'd like me to improve.

OK I feel pretty stupid, I didn't know about the space in the URL. That seems to work well enough :) Also, I don't think I'd contribute too much to your project. I may check it out in the near future, but for now the space in the URL is performing well enough :) If I do install your add on, I will let you know, good or bad, my experience with, promise :) Thank you VERY much for the reply and suggestion!

To disable the drop-down from opening automatically when the cursor enters the address bar:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk. (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste URLB and pause while the list is filtered (3) Double-click the browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus preference to switch the value from true to false

After that, to show the classic history list in the drop-down, you can either:

press the space bar (type a space)
   press the down arrow key
type ^ to initiate a history search

I'm only 3 days ahead of you on that one. Busy week! ;-)
