Sync changing bookmark order and creating empty folders
I am having issues with my sync in firefox. I am using it on two windows 10 machines and one android device. im not 100% sure when it is happening but after a little while my bookmarks in my folders are being re arranged and empty folders are being added in places.. I found this thread but its several years old and the extension referenced 'places maintainance' is gone and cannot be used. Any help would be appreciated https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1130089

It is a known issue that you can get issues with the bookmarks when you Sync bookmarks to a mobile device.
If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.
- use "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox and retry.
If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created

Hi Bryan!
if you have some issues with FF try those steps
Go to accounts.firefox.com Click on the lock icon in the address bar. Click on More Information button. Click on the Permissions tab. Scroll down to Set Cookies and select Allow. Restart Firefox.

thank you Cor-el. I will start to clean up my bookmarks again and see if this fixes it.
This worked fabulously. I repaired the database although i don't think it was damaged. I also set sync back up on my phone and turned off the bookmark setting which should keep things from going south agani.
