I've posted before with no luck. My folder pane is completely empty. I don't even see my accounts listed. I ran thunderbird.exe -p and was able to open thunderbird once with my emails and accounts, but right after closing, I haven't been able to open it again to see my emails or accounts. I can open the profile folder and see my accounts and mailboxes, but don't know why I can't see them in thunderbird anymore. Please, help!

Hello there We have read your message We try to help you.

Okay, you can still see your window but not open it for example? Its frozen that s the name.

It is only what you have mentioned so far as no other facts of trouble on your computer machine.

Attached an image of the screen. No other issues. It seems like it's just an issue recognizing my profile. I'm not sure if it's related to something I've read about an upgrade somewhere between an older version and a newer version and my profile file not properly converting. When I go to "about Profiles" it shows the directory for the proper "default" profile, but doesn't display anything.

Does that help?

I've tried running with the thunderbird.exe -p option and still no luck.

BTW. if i use an older version of thunderbird, I get the attached message.

Hello there Markusallen

we can try to clear the msf files as indicated in one of my documents. This will erase and rebuild the folders when you restart the Thunderbird software.

Then you get to see what it was,if it was that. don't you see that what was Normal?

mail back soon.

Hello there Marcusallen

yes it can be an older version type of Thunderbird to a newer version type. That an antivirus program is in both for example yes and causes errors. It occurs yes.

What kind of antivirus program do you have at the moment! If I may ask?

Thanks for all of your help. I've decided to say F$#K it. The support for thunderbird is terrible and I never should have ended up in this place to begin with if the development team hadn't jerked around with the profile handling without properly testing it. I've been without email (except on my phone) since March 12th and wasted hours trying to get it to work. What a complete waste of time! I'm going to find a different email application that won't cause such aggravation. I have better things to do with my time.

What's ridiculous is I can see my profile and I can see my accounts and mail files within my profiles in windows explorer; I just can't open them with the application that is made to open them.

Bye Bye Mozilla!

closing this topic as a duplicate.

I see a four day old duplicate question that I am closing this in favor of. But nothing earlier. Unfortunately someone decided a "me to" post would be helpful, so your thread went from unanswered to answered. There is a reason we suggest folks open their own topics and only post to threads if they have something useful to say. You are the victim of a "me to" poster on your other thread.

I generally have a little time each weekend to trawl through the incomplete but responded topics, that is how I found this one. But it would be much nice of those with nothing to add did not make that job necessary.

> I can see my profile and I can see my accounts and mail files within my profiles in windows explorer;

If we had known that in the original post that you could see the files then we could have helped. If you've changed your mind, please post a follow up in your original post at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1282010
