How do I get my address book contacts to appear automatically in a new email?

I have imported my contacts from a usv file into my address book. They are all there in the side bar. However when I start to write a new email, none of them appear automatically. What setting do I need to change to correct this please? The only contacts that appear automatically when I start to write are those from received emails. Thank you for your help on this.

Chosen solution

If you still have the original csv, import it again, but in the window that shows the address book fields and the input fields in two columns, move the entries up or down so they match the correct data. Or, open the csv in a spreadsheet and name the columns to match TB, e.g. columns named First Name, Last Name, Display Name, Nickname, Primary Email. Leave a column empty if you don't use it.

Open Address Book and open a contact that was imported via csv. Does the email address appear in the Email box, and the names appear in the correct First, Last and Display boxes? It often happens that importing a csv places things in the wrong places, and then address autocomplete fails to find the data. Also, check that autocomplete is enabled in Tools/Options/Composition/Addressing for Local Address Books.

Thank you for your response. The problem seems to be that the contact's full name is entered as 'First' and the email address is entered as 'Last'. The boxes for 'Display' and 'Email' are empty. I imagine the solution is a magic couple of clicks away but it still evades me...
