more options

I am Chinese. The android's app environment is very bad in china. Some webs and apps are shameless. The app (e.g. taobao which like amazon in china) is often opened and show me a AD When I browse a web by accident. How do I config my firefox to improve this situation? Thanks !!!

Hi pgd5776,

This is a Android OS/weblink feature rather than a Firefox setting. Some web links will ask you if you want to open them up on a browser or in the app installed on your phone. This option is given to you by the webapp creater and let's the OS store that default opening location.

On Android 9 here are the steps to find that:

1. Open your Android settings and search for "default". 2. Tap on "default apps" under General > Apps & Notifications. 3. Tap in "App links"

There is where you will find the app you are referring to and clear that default.

Basically the option in Taobao tells it to watch for those links so it can open them when it sees you click on one, but the Android system settings are what gives it permission to actually open them. You can scroll down through the list of apps on that screen and tap on Taobao to see exactly what links it will look for and open.
