Getting error "A web page is slowing down your browser...", only on Google Drive spreadsheets, and only on Firefox for Mac

more options

Not only is the message showing up, spreadsheets in Drive are now stopping altogether or crashing to a black screen. It doesn't matter if I click "Stop it" or "Wait". The spreadsheet/web page will still get bogged down in slowness, the message will keep popping up, and eventually it will crash.

This was not happening until just a week or so ago. I tried working on Drive spreadsheets in Safari and they worked just fine, so this is definitely a Firefox issue. I tried blocking all trackers on the site, as was recommended in another post. No effect. I have also tried simply clearing out my cache and restarting the browser. No effect.

Another user has similar issues and it appears to be Firefox Pioneer that's causing the issue. Disabling that should solve the issue.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, that was exactly the problem, apparently. I disabled the Pioneer add-on, restarted Firefox, and my spreadsheet seems to be working fine. I will mark this as Solved. Thanks again!

I am getting this same error in Google spreadsheets on windows 7 and don't to the best of my knowledge have the add on Pioneer. So I don't that we have found the problem.

Hi dougsinnerview! If the above did not help, please create a new thread. Since this one is marked as solved, you may not get a response since it doesn't appear in the contributor dashboard in the "needs help" section.

Thanks.
