Is it any extension that enable treating links as normal objects? I'm tired of searching for a minimal space inside a webpage to make focus on it or to copy a link name.

I want to make focus easy on all the page and select whatever, no mater if seletion start in midle of a link.

Of course I would need a keyboard shortcut and a button to make this to work.

There were several Legacy add-ons that would work. Copy As Plain Text and Link Toggler

But they are not compatible with Quantum Firefox.

See if you can find replacements at the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here).

Nothing there on a blink. Is it even an api function for that?

I don't know whether this works on Linux, but I recently learned that on Windows:

Holding down the Alt key while making a selection of or in a link prevents the link from navigating away to a new page.

Edit: to avoid triggering any scripts, make sure your "mouseup" -- lifting your finger off the left mouse button -- occurs after the link.

Sorry, I missed this. Why not the mouse?

If you press the Tab key in a page, it often will move the selection from link to link, or among links and form controls. Is that helpful? Then to create a selection, hold down Shift with the navigation keys (e.g., right-arrow, End, etc.).

Edit: Shift is the key you hold down on Windows; not sure about Linux.

If you want to use the keyboard then you probably need to enable caret browsing (F7) to make it possible to navigate the page with the cursors keys.
