I was asked to update Firefox. I started but didn't finish. Now I can't even go on. It says "any search". I updated on the internet and on my phone but it didn't sink with my old firefox. I don't want to loose my bookmarks. There is no new Firefox icon.

If you have lost Firefox on your computer, you should be able to simply download Firefox from the Mozilla website. Since your Firefox profile (the folder that saves your Firefox data) is stored separately from the Firefox installation directory, you can reinstall Firefox without losing your Firefox data.

If you are still concerned about losing your data, you can back up your Firefox profile folder before reinstalling Firefox just to be safe.
