No way to reach the Print menu you get by typing ctl-P from printer button/menu? or turn shortcuts into menu items or buttons?

more options

If I type control-P while in a webpage, I get the first image I attach. This is exactly what I want. But if I press the printer icon or use the printer-drop down from the menu, I get the second image I attach. This is simpler, but it doesn't provide a way to reach the control-P menu for people who need that. I have only been able to accomplish this by typing control-P

While I have found help for people who want to create keyboard shortcuts for things on the menu pull down, I haven't been able to find help for people who want to go the other direction, and make a button, or menu pulldown for something which exists as a keyboard shortcut, and I need the functionality of typing control-P on a device that has no keyboard, only a touch screen, and thus no way to type control-anything.

Does this exist, and have I just been unable to find it a) in Firefox Quantum or b) as an addon?

Thank you.

... why has the control of Margins which used to live in a 'Margins& Headers and Footers' tab gone away?

Use the Page Setup button in the Print Preview screen, which is what is shown in your 2nd screenshot. The "Margins& Headers and Footers" tab will be in the Page Setup dialog box.

Aha. More reading and I found a way to do what I want. First you have to restore the Menu Bar. Then File/Print gives you control-P

Sorry, was looking for solutions in the wrong places.

Now, alas, the problem has moved to 'why has the control of Margins which used to live in a 'Margins& Headers and Footers' tab gone away?

Thank you for your reply. For me the Page Setup button only takes me to what I see in image 1. No Margins& Headers/Footers tab.

The Print button does, however, take me someplace that is a little useful (see image 2).

I can set the headers and footers here, or set them to blank. But I have yet to find a way to remove them altogether. I also have yet to find a way to change, and in particular remove the margins. Print this image as large as the printer is willing to make it is a fairly common need, so it would surprise me if it isn't available somewhere. I just don't know how to find it.

I have both Print Preview and Print (Ctrl+P) items in the File menu (Alt+F). The "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list only has a Print item that opens the print preview window.

Thank you.

Alt-F indeed gives you a way to get the File menu without needing to restore the menu bar. So that is another way to get to Print which is control P. But I was looking for a way to do it which isn't a keyboard shortcut, but is reachable via a mouse, for use with touchscreens that don't have any physical keyboard at all. If I could type alt-F, I could have typed the control-p in the first place.

But it looks as if the Print command here (see image), which I think should be renamed to Print Preview (because that is what it brings up, the thing called Print Preview in the File pulldown, or alt-F) gives you a way to get to what I think of as real Print -- i.e. what you would get if you could type control-P.

Thank you.
