Firefoxc 52 Release and later only allows the (NPAPI) Firefox Player Plugin to run.

Firefox 52.0 ESR (52.9.0esr was last) did allow other NPAPI Plugins to though on Windows you needed 32-bit.

IE is about the only browser to still allow the NPAPI Java Plugin to run.

Since you use Windows you could use the legacy portable Firefox 52.9.0esr as it can completely separate on hard drive or off a usb flash drive. https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox-portable-legacy-52

There is also a Java web start that may be an option but that is something I not have used.
