Twitter Follow buttons do not show in Blogger with latest version of Firefox in Windows 10, although they do show in IE11. I have disabled the extensions and the theme, to no avail.

Blog site is: https://www.dbdebunk.com. Button code is:

<a href="https://twitter.com/dbdebunk" data-lang="en" data-text-color = "#FF0000" data-link-color = "#0033CC" data-button = "grey" data-align="center" data-show-count="false" class="twitter-follow-button">Follow @DBDebunk</a><script src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Pls advise.

By do not show I mean I can see only link as text, but not the graphic button.

Hi, www.dbdebunk.com is down at this time. is there a Shield Icon to the left in the address bar next to the padlock. If is it maybe blocking something.

What security software are you running please as well list your extensions. ?

Disable Extensions does not always work. When site is back up please  : Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

SafeMode-Fx35

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

I am running very few but strictly necessary extensions without which FFox would not be useful to me and I would have to give it up. I am sorry, but having disabled all extensions and the theme without the problem going away, I do not believe any of them is the cause and it's not worth it for me to lose customization only to find out that the problem persists and have to recustomize again.

The only security software I am running is Windows firewall.

If the buttons show in IE11 without all this hassle, but not in Firefox I would have to conclude that in this specific context FFox is an inferior browser. I have seen other users complain of this very problem. My suggestion is for Mozilla to look into it.

HI, I mention backup your Profile and Bookmarks as this is something that you should be doing after changes and customization monthly. So if something did happen you would have a copy, this month that would put you back together as it was.

As was mentioned this does not do anything to your Profile which is somewhere else than the places I asked you to go to delete folders after uninstalling.

Prior to this you have downloaded the Full Version Installer which is the full package rather than the Stub installer you have worked with before which when started downloads while installing. So the 1st works better and fixes issues while leaving your Profile untouched.

SO I guess in the future you will know the 10min fix (maybe).

Thank you, but no, I have neither the time, nor the inclination for the hassle just to have 2 Twitter buttons show. And I just don't believe that the extensions or the theme or acceleration are the cause.

Assume that the problem occurs in Safe mode. Am I going to reverse each change in FF configuration one by one to test if one is the culprit?

You know, I have some real work to do.

The way FF is currently customized is what I consider necessary. I am not prepared to give anything up just to make 2 Twitter buttons show.

What settings does it reset and are they returned after safe mode, or do I have to do it manually?

If I were to test in Safe Mode, what is the procedure to ensure return of FF to exactly its state preceding the safe mode?
