When i click on the firefox icon, my homepage "google" only shows the search box, when i type in it sometimes the txt doesn't even show and sometimes it does, after i hit enter to search any other page it does not load properly, in most cases all of the txt and pictures are missing, but i can sometimes see a play video option. I noticed that when i am on a current page if i change the zoom to 90% I can see everything on it again, but that is really annoying to do every time i go to a new page. Also If I click on the firefox icon a second time and then close the first window the second window works just fine. How can i get it to work properly the first time?

Check your zoom controls.

<Control> (Mac=<Command>) + (plus) enlarge - (minus) reduce 0 (zero) restore

If this fixes the issue; It appears to be an issue that only affects users who have turned off ClearType font rendering within their windows settings. So a workaround for the moment would either be to turn ClearType back on or disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox: Firefox's performance settings How to Tweak ClearType in Windows for Better Screen {web link}

I don't know if it also helps to note that when i go into internet explorer everything works fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, I also cleared all cookies and don't keep a search history. I was using the default theme and tried changing it to light because i read that worked for someone else, but it didn't make a difference for me. I went into about:config and tried to permanently change the zoom to 90% but after opening firefox again i just had the same issue of missing pictures and missing most of the text, only on a smaller font lol.

Great! thanks for the fast and helpful reply. I knew nothing about ClearType, don't think i disabled it, but i went to the web link you posted to tweak it. there were 5 screens with options to pick a the most clear font, 4 or the 5 already selected options were fine, but i did change one of them..it was only a slight change. After that firefoxs works fine the first time. This is so interesting, i would think that there would be issues with other apps on my computer if that was the case..but whatever it worked. Thank you so much again, and I hope this helps the other people here who have the same issue, if not maybe they could try your other suggestions and comment on them if they work.
