my system crashed. When I re-opened, Firefox lost all my history. Why didn't it retain all the tabs that were opened when the system crashed? Nothing shows.
Restore session didn't come up as an option. And so all my pages are lost. Why? History shows exactly nothing.

If your system crashed, it may have corrupted the hard drive. Find a hard drive scanner/repair for your system.
It didn't actually crash, I don't need a hard drive repair. It just re-booted itself. My Safari retained its history, but Firefox lost everything.
Please can you respond, thank you.
If the computer was not shut down properly, there can be corrupt files. Run a disk scan/repair.
As to getting your data back;
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

What startup setting are you using/
"Show my windows and tabs from last time" is safest when it comes to restore a session after a crash or when Firefox otherwise didn't close properly.
