Is a ram disk for browser.cache.disk.parent_directory worth using or not? I have been told in the past that a SSD is not a good idea because of the many writes.

Hi,

I don't think you have anything to worry about by using an SSD for the Firefox cache. While it is true that Firefox can write a lot to the disk, the expected lifespan of an SSD is so long that you're almost certainly not going to run into problems with it. A few years ago, someone did this experiment where they tested the lifespan of various SSD's, and they all lasted much longer than the typical person would ever use them.
