When I try using youtube and other websites, weird symbols start showing up instead of something normal. Same problem with google chrome. No other device connected to my network is having the problem. I tried clearing all user data and reinstalling firefox and changing encoding, but it didn't work. I'm using the newest version of windows 10 (10.0.16299 Build 16299). I'm sending an example.

Do you use a filtering program that intercepts your secure connections? Some sites with upgraded security are now using a compression format that some of these "man in the middle" programs do not understand.

I think we've seen reports of this with Lavasoft Web Companion, but there may be another new one with this issue.

One way to investigate would be to check the issuer of the certificate on YouTube. You can call up the viewer using any of these methods:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Certificate"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Certificate"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Certificate" button

I have posted a screenshot for comparison. What do you have in those areas?

The issue has been solved. I found a program that interfered with my connection.
