Can't sign in to any site with Google account

When I try to sign in with my Google account on any website that allows this Firefox goes into an infinite redirect loop. The tab title changes to "Forwarding ..." and all I see is a blank page. The URL in the address bar looks like this:

https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/v2/auth?response_type=code&client_id=XXX....

However, I can log in using Chrome. It's been like this since the update to 57.0.0.

Is this a known bug? Should I file a new bug report? I couldn't find one in Bugzilla. I thought a bug like this would affect a lot of people and was hoping that it would be fixed quickly in the next patch update bug apparently I'm the only person on Earth who has it...

Edit:

I made a backup of my profile folder and cleared all cookies, cache and site data via preferences. After that I logged into my main Google account and was able to log into Evernote (one of the sites that didn't work before) using this account.

However, after I added 2 more accounts in Google/Gmail, I logged out of Evernote just to test that it still works and couldn't log in anymore because of the same problem. It seems that it only happens to me if I'm signed into at least 3 Google accounts, and it doesn't matter which accounts (tried different ones) and in which order.

I also created a new profile and did the same thing there - it worked, even with 3 accounts. I suspect here is something else left that I need to clear. I'll try to export my existing profile data to a new profile.

It's really strange that this happens to me on 3 different operating systems where I created a profile from scratch (on Windows, macOS, and Linux). I think this is no coincidence.

Since you mentioned "redirect" and "blank page", please make sure the redirect block is turned off:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Unfortunately this didn't help. I also disabled all addons just in case.

Also make sure that you do not block the referrer.

  • network.http.sendRefererHeader = 2

You can check this pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is false.

  • privacy.resistFingerprinting = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

You can try if is works in a New Private Window.

Do you have any extensions installed that deal with cookies? Are you allowing cookies globally?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
