I have tried every solution on this site and many others. None help. I run Windows 10 on Hp Pavilion 21 4GB x64-based processor. I have reinstalled Firefox three times at least, in the last year, uninstalled flash and all my add- ons, few that I had, done all the safe start suggestions, nothing helps. It runs my disk at 100% as soon as I try to open a page. Chrome doesn't do this, but I like firefox I'm used to the way it displays. And hate that every time I try a reinstall I have to spend a couple hours fixing my top site tab page and my toolbars, and my search bars back the way I like it. Sometimes Firefox won't even open unless I open another browser like Chrome or IE, Then Firefox just pops open. I have to force it closed through task manager at least two or three times a day after it becomes totally unresponsive. I'm about to give up and go to another browser, this has been going on for years and my loyalty has worn thin.

If there is ANYONE that has figured out this problem can you help me out.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

Please : Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Help ? --> Troubleshooting Information Page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there. if yes, go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.

Monitor in Task Manager. Should stay below 2 gigs. If excessive then do below and monitor and change if need to.

Go the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I did as you suggested down to "Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Help ? --> Troubleshooting Information Page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there." I only have Activated = false, Prevent accessibility = 0, Accessible Handler Used = true and Accessibility Instantiator which is blank. I did check Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser anyhow. so I don't know if i did right or not? I regularly use clean up disk, though it usually has very little to clean up.

For some reason I lost dozens of my passwords only 7 of them are now showing up in my security window. I have been able to get on at least one site not listed (outlook) but I would like to have them back. It was one of my favorite thing about Firefox.

I seems to be working better for now it sometimes does that when I try something at least for a a day or so. I just wish I didn't have to spend an entire day playing around especially at Christmas just to get it to do what it's suppose to do.

Sounds like there are some Corruption issues with the password file in your Profile. Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem. See Creating a profile :

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Well I made a new profile the following file were not in the default profile. I don't know if it matters or not.

chromeappsstore.sqlite mimeTypes.rdf persdict.dat

I know you're trying to help but I've wasted soooo much time trying to fix firefox issues. And I still don't have my passwords it seems to be running smoother and for that I'm grateful. I've been at this for hours most of this day. It'll be easier just to reset every password, That is if I find the sites and write them all down from now on and not count on firefox.

Thank you for the help. I have an Old Firefox Data File i might be able to find my passwords on that, I'll write down the ones i have just in case they want to disappear.

Thank you again for all your efforts.
