Firefox stopped working on win7 pro 64bit. Nothing I have done can bring it back. Uninstalled, Cleaned Temp. Looked for virus. Rolled back to an earlier date. Erased the profile. Tried the stub installer, the full 54Mb installer. In some cases it says it cannot reach xpcom file, in other cases it tries to install and at the end it says it Mozilla does not know why it cant install. I have been a user for over 15 years. Password reset ( I provide the mail) never arrives (maybe my account was hijacked), so I cannot use my normal user name. I am on sync with my android phone, but havent tried anything from there. As you people might expect, I could certainly use some help. I am still a Firefox believer and refuse to jump to Chrome.

Regards

Chosen solution

As to your e-mail, I called an administrator.

As to installing Firefox, let's try this;

Many have reported issues using the 64bit Firefox. Install the 32bit version from; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}

The solution suggested, namely use the 32 bit version, instead of the 64 one, solved the problem once and for all. Thanks a lot Mr. Fred McD
