Down Grade : Unfortunately 56.0.2 is no longer safe to use for every day use, but 52 ESR is! It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Or wait code may change in 58 and extensions built.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

First of all : when you click on the cog wheel in the upper right corner, you can make many changes to the new New Tab page.

But if you still want the old New Tab page back :

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promist to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled

and set its values to false

Then close and restart Firefox.

In the new tab there was option to disable is but it isnt there in the now changed tab. Where in the config is the option to disable it? Dont wont to poke on my own.

Hi, I tried that and got more messed up than before. And believe me when I say I was mixed up, that I was. And a little bit ticked off after two hours of searching the database and getting nowhere. But :) it is now solved via the web extension.
