I want to change the look of firefox quantum 57.0 (64-bit)
i done like the look of the new Firefox quantum, it reminds me of windows 10, or a phone OS, im on a real computer, im using windows 7 and when it expires i will be using linux, i wont ever use windows 10 because its spyware and its hideous and flat and unstable, so i don't want my Firefox to look like windows 10, and again i have a real computer so i never want any aspect of my PC to look like a dumbed down flat phone OS
specifically
i don't want flat and simple line drawn phone/windows 10 icons they are ugly bland and boring i don't want my tabs to be flat and square, it reminds me of ms edge which is horrible and disturbing
how do i change the appearance of Firefox in these regards? I remember you used to be able to skin it including the buttons tabs etc but that was quite a while ago so i don't know if that's possible anymore or how to do it, especially with extensions depreciated to the new webextension standard
any assistance will be very, very much appreciated thank you

Hi,
Change is always difficult. Some people hate rounded tabs, others love them.
Anyways, there's no simple way to change tab appearance or icons in Firefox Quantum (yet?), but have a look at this topic: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1182548#question-reply
Or/and you can use themes to change interface colors.
Best regards

Thanx BelFox! super quick reply too ;) i was just now looking for solutions to this on the web and had just started reading something about theoretical changes that can be made to userChrome.css file in %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(your profile folder name)\chrome then i decided to check back on my post here, and you have much more information in your link, perfect timing, thanx for the link and information, it seems like if there is a way to do it this is the only way... so far

ok so i chose this solution because its the best one to fix the nasty square tabs right at the moment, the other guy (https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis) has nicer looking tabs that are curvier like the originals but it looked not right when i tried it, so when he fixes it that would be the better option, also with the option i chose it looks a little screwy in the dark theme but fine in the light theme
i still have the problem now of getting rid of the ugly flat simplistic stick person icons, but at least the tabs are tolerable now
ive started a new post to address the icons, it lives here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1185740
Modified
I can't see the new tabs, they are transparent and my desktop is black. Also, the square sharp edges looks like something from ten years ago.
Now it is hard to tell which tab is in use.
Advise : Pls put an option for us users after the update, now i waste my weekend at my computer to fix the browser after the update because I find the new update very irritating to the vision. Not happy user.

Hi eng5841, which theme are you using (default, light, dark, something from the Add-ons site)? The distinction between the active tab and inactive tabs varies depending on the theme. You also can apply custom style rules to make the distinction stronger, but the specifics vary depending on what you use.
