I opened my browser and automatically it began uploading and update from Mozilla, it is a new browser that I don't want. So I went to delete the program that had just been installed, and when I did it took the whole Firefox program. So I went to my thumb drive with my old download on it and when it opened viola' the new browser that I don't want. How do I get my old browser back, or can anyone recommend a browser without a whole lot of stuff I don't want or need being shoved down my throat against my will?

Hi, install 52 ESR, that keeps the old layout and is updated with security updates until May 2018, get it from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Install Older Version Of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

I do not want a downgrade, that is what I received, what I want is my superior old Firefox back. What you sent was a link to tell me how awful your previous product was and how great the new one is supposed to be, that I shouldn't use the version that works because it is a security risk. What security risk? I have never had any problems. Does the old program cause difficulty for your new masters at google? And then the link says that if I don't want the Firefox version of google then I should go to google. Do you have any idea how unhelpful, and ignorant that sounds? I do not want all of the extra crap you are trying to force on me, and I don't want your new partners products either. Is their anybody out there whose word we can still believe?

What version are you talking about?

I honestly don't understand why we can't have upgrades which do not break our browsers, which we've spent months customizing to perfection. Suddenly we're force-fed "improvements" and now I have to spend hours getting my previous functionality back, before I can start work.

Assuming one were to install 52ESR, what happens after May 2018?

I was just reading about 52ESR. It says:

"Firefox ESR is intended for groups who deploy and maintain the desktop environment in large organizations such as universities and other schools, county or city governments and businesses."

That's not me. I'm an individual user. Is 52ESR ok for me to use?

Looks like it might be time to look for a new browser.....sadly....

Hi, ESR can be used by normal users too -- its why its up for download! 52 ESR will be upgraded to 59 ESR by May 2018.

Will 59 ESR be like this version 57? No more extensions?
