how to select duckduckgo as standard searchengine
Hi All,
I love working with firefox with it'useful add-ons like for example add block plus. I even donated to Firefox a time ago which i rarely do. The mobile version however, does NOT support any add-ons and here's the problem: I can only chose for google, bol.com and wikipedia as a standard search engine. Bol.com is a commercial company and probably paid for it's entry in Firefox, so there IS a possibility to ADD a new embedded search engine optionbetween the 3 others.....
Since i dislike google with it's commercial instead of searchal results (duckduckgo is much better in this behavior) I only can end up with wikipedia and of course buy a book at BOL.com :-(
My call to the developers: PLEASE ADD DUCKDUCKGO TO THE STANDARD SEARCH ENGINE OPTIONS!!!
If there is a workaround, just let me know but for now, with the evercookies in safari intruding my privacy, and a stubbern Firefox letting me do more than wanted actions to enter duckduckgo, I am better off with a 10 year old nokia since my "smart"phone turned into useless.....

Hello, you can easily change your search engine with each Firefox version.
Thank you for responding but I regretfully use an Apple now. Annoying is the message whenever I enter DuckDuchGo that I can set my preferences to them BUT it isn't possible in IOS10.3
Please prove me wrong!! :-)

Thanks for reacting but you aren't convincing enough to prove me wrong, which I regret :-( . The reason I post here lies in the fact that IOS ONLY shows google, wikipedia and bol.com as standard search engines where I expect duckduckgo as a legid option too... No sliders for other search engines, no options to install addons and only a possibility to let this f***ng evercookies track literally everything i do everywhere. Apple sucks bigtime and looking at the little possibilities here, Mozilla thinks the same :-)

Since Apple doesn't come up with a solution for all it's million users, trapped by ever and everywhere following evercookies, and never will give it's users the possibilities of choosing a favorite browser, banking software, sms's with website links and whatsapp weblinks cannot be used safely anymore since you never know what will be stored and sold by the add network of evercookies.....
My next phone WILL be an android phone because the safety of apple phones is gone through the drain by this form of Apples arrogant stubberness which clears the road for all others.
