Why does WebEx share destroy tab content display in Firefox

For the last month (since Windows 10 Creator Update???), as soon as I share any application from my desktop in Cisco WebEx, all of the tabs in Firefox are "stripped" of content - i.e., titles and layouts still show, but all of the content text is white space. This happens even if I share Adobe Reader - immediately all unshared Firefox tabs are "stripped". I can't recreate this problem and do screenshots to attach to this question, because the (WebEx?) bug destroys all instances of Firefox, so that I couldn't fill out this form.

Chosen solution

As you have been told this is a Cisco Issue. Use another browser if Firefox does not connect to them. This is not a Firefox Support Issue. Please Follow up with Cisco as you have been suggested to do so.

There will be no further response to this Cisco Issue.

This would be a Cisco issue and not a Firefox Support Issue. https://support.webex.com/MyAccountWeb/supporthome.do

Please note current version of Firefox is 56.0.2 https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : all Legacy Extensions will be disabled or removed.

Please update your Video Card Drivers as they are from 8-6-2015 which could be the issue. https://support.amd.com/en-us/download Suggest looking for Motherboard Drivers as well.

Note the https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cisco-webex-extension/ is compatible with FF 57

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I don't have a Cisco WebEx account (and can't seem to create one) to report this bug to Cisco. Three standards bodies (IEEE, SAE, and TCG) setup the frequent WebEx calls (though I chair several, WebEx still won't let me report an issue). I guess I'll just wait until November 15th, after which apparently (as a WebEx Host and Presenter), I'll have to shift to another browser for those telecons, because the WebEx direct browser interface doesn't support Presenters. Thanks anyway, for your prompt response.

I have had exactly the same issue on Windows 10 and Windows 7 using Firefox 57. The issue is not just with WebEx, the same happend using Windows Remote Assistance so I don't think this is a Cisco issue.

It looks like the fix for this issue in testing with coworkers is to disable hardware acceleration.

Click the menu button and select Options, select General panel, then look for Performance section.

Uncheck "Use recommended performance settings" then uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available".

Then close Firefox and re-open.

YES!

Finally a solution! I'll pass this on to my several dozen co-chairs in SAE automotive standards and TCG security standards workgroups who have been suffering from this problem for the last four months on Windows 10 and Windows 7 machines (both Intel and AMD CPUs). Despite the fantasy in the original responses, this is NOT a Cisco WebEx problem - it does also mess up Remote Desktop and various other screen intensive applications.

THANKS to bmeade90 - you've made my day!
