I just got a PC after years using a mac and I already want to throw it out the window. LOL.

Basically, all of a sudden my Gmail thinks I'm receiving emails at 1:04AM when it's 8:06PM. My computer is set to the right timezone and I've tried all the tricks to sync it; nothing appears wrong with the computer itself. Only Gmail.

So I opened up the javascript console and did a date search, per: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Time_and_time_zone_settings

"Wed Sep 20 2017 01:09:26 GMT+0000 (UTC)"

Which is what the current UTC time is.

I also opened GMail in Internet Explorer, and the times were all correct. So this is obviously an issue specifically with Firefox.

Um I mean 1:06AM when it's 8:06AM. It's off by round even hours, not by hours and minutes.

What do these give?

  • (new Date()).toLocaleString();
  • (new Date()).getTimezoneOffset();

(new Date()).toLocaleString(); "9/19/2017, 8:44:51 PM"

(That's the correct local time)

(new Date()).getTimezoneOffset(); 0

(That's the number zero)

This sounds more like an issue with Gmail, so maybe check its preferences page.
