VirusTotal say FF Android 55.0.2 is bad, 55.0.0 not
The VirusTotal.com site say Firefox for Android 55.0.2 is bad, 55.0 not.
Chosen solution
While I do not disagree, you can never trust Virus Total for detection. Even in their official Q&A, it is written, to scan and check with an actual anti-virus. VT doesn't do in-depth heuristics or thorough file analyses. It does them at a moderate level, which is usually more than enough.
Also, since I can't find any reason and can't reproduce the same issue that you had, I will be fairly certain to say, that this is a False Positive.

Did you check the install itself and not the extracted .apk? I am fairly certain that this is a false positive. Also, downloaded from official sources?
I am downloaded from Google Play
Can you try scanning the APK with Malwarebytes and some form of an anti-virus? This looks more like a false positive than anything else.
It's only one scanner and im don't dink Firefox is bad. And VirusTotal scanns with Malwarebytes and other.
Sorry, sink, not dink
